Grad Applications 101

General resources

An overall understanding of the application process is definitely the starting point for a student wishing to enroll a graduate program.

Personal Advices

Once you've understood the basics of the process, check out my four major lessons learned from applying to grad school.

Grad school in Europe

The process of applying to an European school is a bit different than the one for USA, so if you're planning to apply there, be sure to check this one out.

Contacting professors

It's essential to contact professors before the applications are submitted, and even more important to do so in an intelligent way so they won't ignore you.

Statement of Purpose

The SoP is the part of your application you have most control over, so make sure you give your best in this part.

Letters of Recommendation

It is important to give a few tips to your recommenders when you ask for a letter: your strengths, how your research with them connects with the program you're applying to, etc.

TOEFL (for international students)

For the Test of English as a Foreign Language, I studied through this great online course. Just carry it out until the end and you're all set, thank me later.

Interview

Finally, be ready for the interview if you are applying to the PhD.

Miscellaneous

If you want even more resources than the ones above, the ones below were the ones I found most helpful.
